  • Founded by Mr Teo Kiang Ang under Choon Hin Company. Operated from a sundry shop in Marine Terrace
1980
July 12

1980s

  • Appointed as a dealer for Caltex Singapore to distribute bottled liquefied petroleum gas (“LPG”) cylinders to domestic households
  • Contracted to operate Caltex’s LPG storage depot
  • Supplied LPG cylinders to more than 50 dealers
1997

1997

  • Expanded focus to include commercial and industrial customers
  • Ceased distribution for Caltex Singapore
  • Obtained LPG cylinders from Singapore Petroleum Company (“SPC”) instead

Early 2000s

  • Embarked on a series of acquisitions of LPG businesses to enhance distribution network

  • Restructured to consolidate LPG business under Union Energy Corporation Pte. Ltd. (“UEC” and together with its subsidiaries “UEC Group”) through 7 separate entities
2008

2008

  • Union Energy Pte. Ltd. (“Union Energy”) incorporated to consolidate distribution of bottled LPG cylinders to domestic households under one single entity
2009

2009

  • Ventured into the compressed natural gas (“CNG”) business through Union Gas Pte. Ltd. (“Union Gas”)
  • Built a CNG fuel station at 50 Old Toh Tuck Road, which was then the largest CNG fuel station in the world
2013

  • Acquired a few small dealers of bottled LPG cylinders with an aggregate volume of approximately 120,000kg per month
2015

  • Ventured into diesel business
  • Converted some of the CNG dispensers at 50 Old Toh Tuck Road into diesel dispensers for retail sale of diesel
  • Also ventured into transport, distribution and bulk sale of diesel to commercial customers

  • Acquired Union Energy and Union Gas from UEC Group as part of our restructuring exercise into Union Gas Holdings Limited
